JVee Casio capped a triple-double performance with 2 game-winning free throws, as Alaska defeated Rain Or Shine 99-95 in the PBA Philippine Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

Casio finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, then made 2 foul shots in the final 11 seconds to help the Aces close out the elimination round with a 7-4 record.

Alaska is assured of placing as high as No. 3 after the preliminaries, which means the Aces will figure in a best-of-3 series in the quarterfinals.

Rain Or Shine fell to 5-4, its post-season fate still hanging in the balance with 2 games still in hand.

Forwad Marion Magat had a career night for Alaska, scoring 14 points and 2 3-pointers to go with 6 rebounds.

Alaska got ample help on a night it missed Calvin Abueva and Carl Bryan Cruz, who are playing for Gilas Pilipinas in the ongoing FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Chris Banchero is also out because of injury.

Maverick Ahanmisi scored 23 points to lead Rain Or Shine, which has a tough schedule ahead.

The Elasto Painters take on San Miguel Beer on Wednesday, and Barangay Ginebra on Friday.
