MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATED) The impasse between Ray Parks and TNT KaTropa came to an end on Monday.

Parks has signed a one-year extension to stay with the franchise, according to team manager Gabby Cui.

"We signed a one-year agreement, max deal for a second-year guy," Cui said.

"It was a long negotiation, but that's the way negotiations go," he added. "You try and get the best value for both of you. Maybe in the start, we didn't see eye to eye, but through constant communication, with the help of the bosses, we found a solution -- a win-win solution."

"So he's gonna be joining us in practice, and I'm looking forward to having him."

Parks was traded to TNT in November 2019, in exchange for Anthony Semerad, Don Trollano, and a pair of draft picks.

He played less than two conferences for Blackwater, the team that took him with the second pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.

He averaged 12.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in nine games for the KaTropa, helping them reach the semifinals of the Governors' Cup.

He and the team came to an impasse regarding his contract extension, however, before they finally came to terms today.
