Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson on Thursday sent a message of gratitude to Filipino fans for their support in his campaign to make it to the 2017 NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans.

"Thank you so much for your support, I am so humbled," said Clarkson in a video posted on his Twitter account. "Salamat po, mahal ko kayo."

Co-starring in the video is Clarkson's "Filipino French bulldog," Minxy.

Clarkson earlier said he will be honored to represent the Philippines in the NBA's midseason showcase after seeing a group of Filipino Lakers fans campaign for him on Facebook.

The 6-foot-5 Clarkson, who made it to the 2015 All-Rookie team, is averaging 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in a reserve role for the Lakers this season.

Meanwhile, some Filipino basketball players have made a last-ditch push to encourage fans to vote for Clarkson.

The voting period ends on January 16. The NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 19 at the Smoothie King Center.
