The Philippine National Police will not stop its search for fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy inside a 30-hectare compound in Davao City despite a court order telling police to remove barricades in the area.

Police Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba, spokesperson of Task Force Teknon Alpha, said police operatives searching for Quiboloy inside the KOJC compound have not been pulled out.

"Ina-acknowledge ng PNP 'yung temporary protection order issued by the court. We would to clarify na itong temporrary protection order hindi makakapigil sa pag enforce ng warrant kay Quiboloy among others. Tuloy-tuloy ang aming trabaho," he said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.

Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 15 earlier ordered the PNP to remove its barriers around the KOJC compound, saying these hinder the exercise of members’ religious, academic and property rights.

The temporary protection order issued by  also directs the PNP “to immediately cease and desist from any act or omission that threatens the life, liberty, or security as well as the properties of the petitioners."

The order was issued in the context of a July petition filed by KOJC and Jose Maria College Foundation seeking a writ of amparo and alleging that the PNP and the Department of the Interior and Local Government pose a threat to the life, liberty, and security of the petitioners.

In the interview, Alba said it was not the police that put up barricades at the KOJC compound but members of the religious group.

"Walang obstruction sa passage way, free 'yung ingress and egress nila," he said.

He added there will be no letup in the police operation to arrest Quiboloy, who is wanted on abuse and trafficking charges.

"We will defend 'yung aming desisyon when to stop. 'Yung ultimate objective natin is to really deliver the subject of the warrant of arrest," he said.

Quiboloy, a former spiritual adviser of ex-President Rodrigo Duterte, earlier rejected summons by a Senate panel inquiry investigating the alleged abuse and trafficking of female KOJC members by the controversial pastor and top leadership.

The national president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, meanwhile, said police can stay at the KOJC compound in Davao City if they have reasonable ground that Quiboloy is inside the premises and if authorities have yet to finish their search.

IBP national president Atty. Antonio Pido, said the time frame for a police search inside the KOJC compound would depend on the size of the property as well as if police have reasonable ground that Quiboloy is still inside.

“How long they would have to stay there to look for the person to be arrested depends on the actual size of the premises. For example, a 100-square-meter condominium would be easy to search. But this is 30 hectares or about 300,000 square meters and then you have structures inside. It really depends on how difficult it is to search the place,” he said in Filipino.

Pido said the KOJC leadership can also file a case against the police if there is evidence that the operation was being done in bad faith and if the owner has suffered irreparable injury. “They have to prove that,” he said.
