Philippine authorities were taken by surprise when a huge number of members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ blocked the national highway of Buhangin, Davao City on Sunday evening.

Supporters parked heavy equipment, a truck, and some cars while the supporters occupied all the lanes of the main highway.

The supporters held a "prayer rally" which mostly involved expressing their rage against the authorities for raiding their compound on Saturday.

They also demanded that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. step down as they showed their support to the Dutertes, who were initially part of the administration's UniTeam alliance but have since positioned themselves as the political opposition over differences on policy.

The KOJC members faced off with Police Regional Office XI director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III as the PNP appealed for them to leave a lane open for passing traffic.

A standoff between the police and church members followed after KOJC supporters refused to heed the call not to block the entire highway.
