MANILA — Reported deaths due to severe tropical storm Kristine and Super Typhoon Leon have climbed to 145 as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest bulletin.

Among the reported deaths, 14 have already been validated.

The NDRRMC also said that 115 were reported injured, 10 of which are confirmed. Meanwhile, 10 individuals remain missing. 

Kristine and Leon have affected 1.79 million families or 7.03 million individuals nationwide.

While Kristine already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility last week, Leon on Wednesday intensified into a super typhoon.

As of 8 a.m., Leon is packing winds of 185 kph near its center, with gusts of up to 230 kph. It is moving west northwestward at 15 kph.

Rains with gusty winds will be experienced in Bicol Region Basin due to Super Typhoon Leon.RELATED VIDEO
