In a statement, the DFA condemned the killing of the Filipina, calling it a violation of the agreement signed by the Philippine and Kuwaiti governments in 2018 for their protection.

The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait is coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities "to ensure that justice will be served," the DFA added.

The DFA also said it has summoned Kuwaiti Ambassador in Manila to express the government's outrage over "the seeming lack of protection of our domestic workers at the hands of their employers."
