A Filipino murder suspect who lived in the San Francisco Bay area was recently deported back to the Philippines to face charges against him.

Ezra Dave Maling is accused of strangling to death his live-in partner Rebeny Vergara in March 2003.

Thereafter, he fled for the US and worked as a musical director for the Bay International Church in Hayward, California, which sponsored his religious visa.

Church members eventually found out about his alleged crime in the Philippines.

In 2011, homeland security was notified of an arrest warrant for Maling. He was arrested in 2015.

It was only last Tuesday when he was deported back to the Philippines. He is now in the custody of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the Philippine National Police.
