KUWAIT—Twelve Filipinos, including 2 minors, will be arriving in the Philippines early Tuesday from Iraq, the Philippine Embassy in Baghdad said.

Seven adults and 2 minors are flying out of Baghdad while 3 are flying out of Erbil, Kurdistan.

They were ordered to return to the Philippines following the military tension between Iraq and the United States.

Philippine Embassy in Baghdad Chargé d'Affaires Jomar Sadie said the repatriates would be transiting in Doha, Qatar where the country's special envoy to the Middle East, Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, would be waiting for them along with Philippine embassy officials.

The repatriates will be accompanied on their flight to Manila by Philippine Labor Attaché to Qatar David Des Dicang. They are expected to arrive in Manila at 3:30 a.m.

Cimatu, meanwhile, will stay in Doha as he continuously monitors the situation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Middle East. He is set to fly to Baghdad and Kuwait.
