MANILA — Sen. Imee Marcos hopes the proposed 2025 budget of the Office of the President (OP) and Office of the Vice President (OVP) will be accorded "courtesy" approval once the Senate tackles it during plenary session.

"Bilang kurtesiya naman, ina-aprove talaga yung sa OVP... Dati kasi pag Office of the President, OVP, tuloy-tuloy lang yun," said Marcos, sister of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and a close ally of the Dutertes.

Marcos admitted that she was surprised when Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Risa Hontiveros clashed over the OVP's proposed budget last week.

"Kaya nga nabigla rin kami sa alitan sa hearing... Nagkagulatan talaga eh. Sana huminahon ang pakikitungo at sa plenaryo tuloy-tuloy na lamang ang pagpasa ng mga budget na to," Marcos said.

Hontiveros is seeking to scrap the OVP's budget for several projects, including the publication of a children's book authored by Duterte.

The OVP is seeking over P2 billion for its 2025 budget.
