MANILA — Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis "Chavit" Singson announced on Wednesday that he intends to run for senator in next year's midterm elections.
“Ako na ang utusan ninyo sa Senado kung papalarin," Chavit said in his speech at an event of League of Mayors of the Philippines held in Pampanga.

Singson was a long time governor of Ilocos Sur. He also served as mayor of Narvacan town in the same province from 2019 to 2022.
