MANILA -- Chavit Singson thinks his life seems to be longer than others. At 83, (he jokingly said he’s just 41), he still travels, bonds with two sons, produces films, and runs his businesses.

“Wala namang sikreto. Wala akong pahinga. 4-5 hours akong natutulog. ‘Yun na ang pahinga ko,” Singson revealed.

For more than an hour at his mansion in Quezon City, he spoke about everything from his near-death experiences and life lessons to his birthday wish and a new film with Manny Pacquiao.

Near-death experiences

While revealing his near-death experiences, he said that he reads Bible everyday.

“Nagdarasal ako everyday. May Bible ako. 3 minutes lang. Read Bible. ‘Pag gising ko, pasalamat agad ako na buhay pa ako, ‘Thank you, Lord, for giving me another day,’” said Singson.

His helicopter crashed in the mountain, he had a heart attack that almost killed him, he got ambushed seven times, he got shot, and he was in multiple car accidents.

“Mataas ‘yung hinulugan. Umikot three times. Basag na ‘yung salamin. Nahulog kami sa bangin. Marami akong sugat. Kinabukasan, nawala agad ‘yung sugat sa kamay ko,” he said about the plane crash.

About his heart attack: “Kumakain ako nun at naramdaman ko na pinawisan ako nang malapot. 28 years ago ‘yan.”

He added: “Seven times akong na-ambush. Wala ngang nangyari.”

For the ex-governor, when it’s your time to go, it’s your time to go. “Naniniwala ako sa destiny,” he said.

Life lessons, birthday wish

His two rules in life: avoid stress and surround yourself with young people.

As a father, the businessman told the media about the things he does for his two sons and the lessons he always tells them.

On his birthday, Singson will give away 7 million cash to his lucky followers on Facebook. He recently introduced his own e-wallet E-Gracia.

His birthday wish: “Wala na. Kontento na ako sa buhay. May program ako sa buhay na happy life. Good health din. Sana makapag-asawa na. Hanggang ngayon, binata eh,” he laughed.

Dating life

The politician’s colorful love life has always been the center of attention.

Finding new love? He said, “Gusto ko mabait. Not necessarily maganda. Basta mabait.”

Is politics still the love of his love? He shared, “Hindi na ako tumakbo last election. More or less baka hindi na ako tumakbo ulit. Enjoy na lang muna ako. Marami ngang gusto akong tumakbo na senator.“

New film with Pacquiao

In the sitdown interview with Singson, he also talked about his upcoming action film with Manny Pacquiao.

In 2016, Singson produced Miss Universe, which he spent $15 million. Is he still open to producing the prestigious pageant again?

Kapag maraming tourists, nagbo-boom ang mga negosyo,” he said.
