Vice President Sara Duterte believes the linking of her husband Mans Carpio and brother Rep. Paolo Duterte to a P6-billion drugs case is political harassment.

Duterte on Saturday said that she is hands-off regarding the the allegations.

Duterte stated that she cannot speak on behalf of her brother Paolo, and the lawmaker has addressed the issue through a statement.

"Napag-usapan din namin ng aking asawa na si Mans Carpio na kung ano yung sa kanya na isyu ay siya lang ang sasagot, at kung ano yung sa akin ay yun lang din ang sasagutin ko para klaro yung mga linya ng pagsasagot namin," she told the media in a book donation activity in Davao City on Saturday.

On Friday, former Customs Intelligence officer Jimmy Guban appeared before Friday’s joint hearing of four House committees, alleing the involvement of Duterte, Carpio, Michael Yang, and others in the P6 billion drug case.

Duterte believes that all of the recent controversies involving her are "political attacks and political harassment."

"But as I always say, hindi lang diyan sa kaso na finile sa kanila. Lahat ito ay political harassment, political attacks. Tingnan niyo naman, lumabas siya nung umalis ako sa DepEd. Lumabas siya nung nagsasalita ako kung ano ang dapat ginagawa natin para sa ating bayan," she said.

The vice president said the Marcos Jr. administration and lawmakers should focus more on most pressing issues such as poverty and inflation.
