MANILA -- Residents of a coastal town in Mariveles, Bataan are reeling from the effects of an oil spill that has reached their shore, believed to be from recent sunken ships nearby.

The Philippine Coast Guard recently reported the fuel tanker MTKR JASON BRADLEY sank in shallow waters near Mariveles, Bataan on Saturday. Although there was no cargo aboard, the vessel had leaks and fuel. According to the PCG, diesel does not affect the environment as much as industrial oil.
