MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. delivered his third State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 22, and lasted for more than an hour.

For those who missed his address, ABS-CBN News created a list of highlights of the president's SONA.

1. Marcos ordered a total ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators, and agencies are tasked to wind down their operations until the end of the year.

2. Marcos said the Philippines cannot yield or waver in defending the West Philippine Sea, even as Manila entered into a deal with Beijing on resupply missions to BRP Sierra Madre at Ayungin Shoal.

3. Marcos addressed the high prices of rice, saying he recognizes the Filipino public's struggles and hardships.

4. Marcos claimed that his anti-narcotics drive has been "bloodless" and that "extermination" has never been part of his strategy for solving the drug problem.

5. Marcos announced another salary increase for government employees.

6. Marcos promised additional benefits for public school teachers.

7. Marcos touted progress in the government's infrastructure program and said right-of-way issues impeding these projects would be resolved.

8. Marcos called on Congress to review the country's key law on electricity to bring down power costs.

10. Marcos vowed to fully comply and honor the peace agreements it has with different fronts.

11. Marcos touted the achievements of the 4Ps, saying that more than 4,000 former 4Ps beneficiaries are now licensed teachers, with at least 35 of them topping various licensure examinations in the country. 

12. Marcos pushed for educational reforms through digital technology.

13. Marcos said the government is boosting other aspects of Philippine culture to provide "experiential tourism" to visitors.

14. Marcos urged lawmakers to approve the executive-crafted National Expenditure Program for 2025 in their "usual timely manner" and, hopefully, with little to no revisions.
