MANILA — Former Sen. Leila de Lima on Tuesday responded to former President Rodrigo Duterte's remark that she should just "find her peace" instead of seeking accountability for her "bogus" drug cases.

De Lima has vowed to sue Duterte administration officials who she blamed for her 7-year long detention.

In a post on her X account, De Lima said that the issue is not a personal feud between her and the former president but rather his offenses against the people.

"Hindi natin ito away, kundi mga kasalanan mo sa taumbayan. Evidently, the former President is unapologetic and remorseless," De Lima said.

In a press conference in Tacloban City on Sunday, Duterte said of De Lima: "Find your peace where you are now. Wag kang kumalikot ng away kasi pagsisihan mo yan. Anong babawiin mo sa akin?"

De Lima said Duterte will be held accountable for his crimes.

"So let him revel in his perverted sense of machismo. But at the end of the day, he will be made to answer for his crimes. I have shown my respect for the rule of law, no ifs and buts. Does he?" De Lima said.

De Lima's legal team refused to comment on the possible charges they are eyeing against Duterte.

On June 24, a Muntinlupa court granted De Lima's demurrer to evidence in her last and third drug case, concluding her legal battle that she insisted was triggered by her criticism on Duterte's bloody drug war.

The ICC is investigating alleged human rights abuses during Duterte's bloody war on drugs, which rights groups said have killed thousands of alleged drug addicts.
