Comelec reports over 2.7-M voter's application processed

MANILA — The Commission on Elections has already processed a total of 2,725,085 voter’s application as of May 7, 2024.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said they are now nearing their 3M application target.

Region IV-A or Calabarzon tops the list of processed applications with 493,392.

This is followed by the National Capital Region with 420,212 and Region VII with 190,393 processed applications.

The three areas registering lower number of applications are:

*Cordillera Autonomous Region – 34,608
*Region IV-B – 67,670
*Caraga – 70,147

Meanwhile, female voter applicants also registered a higher volume with 1,408,366, with the male applications numbering 1,316,723.

Thirteen more provinces in five regions will be visited by the Comelec for its Voter’s Registration Education program, said Elections Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

“Until last week of September po,” Garcia said when asked about the end of their voters registration campaign.

For the 2025 elections, the Comelec is looking to have almost 68 million registered voters, Garcia said.
