MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday downplayed the results of the recent Pulse Asia survey showing that she emerged as a top candidate for the 2028 presidential elections.

The Pulse Asia Survey, which was released on April 2, showed that Duterte is statistically tied with Sen. Raffy Tulfo in first place on the top choices for the next president.

“Napakalayo pa kasi ng 2028 para pag-usapan siya ngayon,” Duterte told reporters in Pasig City.

“Ang ginagawa lang natin ngayon, at ang kailangan nating gawin lahat ay magtrabaho muna. Mag-contribute tayo lahat sa nation building,” she added.

Early this year, Duterte floated the idea of running in the “next elections”, saying that her brothers, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte and Rep. Paolo Duterte, would no longer be seeking local elective posts.

Pressed for details, Duterte refused to confirm her decision and said her statements were “taken out of context."
