The Department of Justice said it has asked the Supreme Court for the transfer of the Davao City cases of fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy to Pasig City.

“Nagsulat na kami sa Court Administrator na ipalipat ang venue ng kaso na finile sa Davao, ito yung kaso ng child abuse and maltreatment at ipapalipat namin sa Pasig din yong kaso na ito,” DOJ Usec. Nicholas Ty said.

(We already wrote to the Office of the Court Adminsitrator to transfer the cases filed in Davao, these are the child abuse and maltreatment cases, we are asking that these be transferred to Pasig.)

The child and sexual abuse cases of Quiboloy and five others in Davao City are related to the non-bailable qualified human trafficking cases in Pasig City.

“Kung sakaling mahanap si Pastor Quiboloy ay dapat i-transport siya dito sa Manila at dito siya ide-detain upang humarap sa kaso niya sa Pasig,” Ty said.

(If Pastor Quiboloy were finally arrested, he should be transported to Manila and he should be detained here and face his cases in Pasig.)

On the recent statements of former President Rodrigo Duterte on the whereabouts of Quiboloy, who was recently tagged by law enforcement authorities as a “fugitive”, Ty said he sees no liability on the part of Duterte.

“Wala naman akong nakikita ano in fact parang ang dating sa amin parang nakakatulong pa siya doon sa pagbibigay, pag-suggesting ng whereabouts ni Pastor Quiboloy,” Ty said.

(I don’t see any liability, in fact it appears that he is helping, he is suggesting the whereabouts of Pastor Quiboloy.)
