US judge orders unsealing of Quiboloy arrest warrant, indictment

A federal judge has granted the US government's request to unseal the arrest warrant and first superseding indictment in the US case of televangelist Apollo Quiboloy.

Terry J. Hatter Jr., US District judge of the US District Court for the Central District of California, granted on March 1 the request of the US government to unseal the arrest warrant and returns in the case of Quiboloy.

A warrant for arrest issued in November of 2021 commands the United States Marshal and any authorized United States officers to arrest Quiboloy on offenses of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and sex trafficking of children.

The offenses also include sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion as well as conspiracy and bulk cash smuggling.

The first superseding indictment was filed in April of 2021 and names Quiboloy, Teresita Dandan, Helen Panilag, Felina Salinas, Guia Cabactulan, Marissa Duenas, Amanda Estopare, Bettina Padilla Roses, and Maria De Leon as co-defendants.

The 74-page superseding indictment outlines the alleged scheme that Quiboloy and his co-defendants used to recruit minors, secure visas, engaged in marriage fraud and how victims were sexually abused and exploited for labor, and how money was transferred during these alleged crimes.

It also lists out 16 overt acts which includes sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional abuse of underage women committed by Quiboloy and others.

In the meantime ,the jury trial for Quiboloy, and several co-defendants have  has been continued to November of this year.

Quiboloy, Danan, and Panilag remain on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s most wanted list.
