MANILA — The Manila Police District (MPD) on Tuesday said it would deploy 1,500 officers to secure Chinese New Year celebrations in the capital's Chinatown, Binondo this weekend.

The Manila government expects 1 million attendees for the Chinese New Year celebration this year.
