MANILA — Malacañang on Monday dismissed former President Duterte’s claims that it was behind former Senator Antonio Trillanes’ attacks against him.

“Alam nyo mahirap pumatol sa ganyan. Hallucination na lang yan. Hallucination,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin told reporters in Malacanang.

The former President lashed out against President Marcos Jr's administration and Trillanes in a phone call to his former spokesman Salvador Panelo during a livestream. Duterte claimed that the former Senator was allowing himself to be a pawn of Malacañang for money.

“Itong si Trillanes talagang Malacañang-sponsored yan. Hindi gagalaw yan ng ganoon, walang pera yan,” Duterte said.

Duterte said he was puzzled about the Palace’s supposed motives against him as he had not attacked Marcos.

“Nagtataka ako bakit ang Malacañang ginagawa. Wala naman kaming kasalanan sa kanila. Hindi naman ako nag-aatake kay Presidente. Pero alam ko si Trillanes nagtatrabaho kay President Marcos,” he added.

During a House quad-committee hearing on Wednesday, Trillanes cited supposed bank accounts and revived his claim that the Duterte family benefited from drug money.

The former president said he was willing to sign a bank waiver to belie Trillanes' claim -- but he asked if he could do it in exchange for slapping the former senator. Duterte then grabbed the mic and gestured that he would throw it in Trillanes' direction, prompting the panel to briefly suspend the hearing.
