MANILA — Alleged POGO godfather Lin Xuhan alias Lyu Dong will be invited to the next and last Senate hearing on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators, Sen. Risa Hontiveros said Friday. 

Lin was arrested on October 10. 

His name has actually already been brought up in a past hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, noted Hontiveros, the panel’s chairperson. 

“Naalala ng legis staff ko na siya o ‘yung isa sa mga alias niya ay nabanggit sa isa sa mga naunang hearing. So hindi po talagang bagong karakter ito sa larangan ng POGO sa Pilipinas. At ngayong naaresto na siya ng mga otoridad, ‘yun na nga mas mabubuo natin ang kwento niya at ang kuwento ng POGO,” Hontiveros said in an interview.

She added that his testimony might prove useful in the investigation on dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. 

“Mayroong iba na ring nagbubuo ng teorya na may link din itong si Lyu Dong at saka si Guo Hua Ping,” Hontiveros said.

Guo Hua Ping is the alleged Chinese name of Guo.

“At ‘yung iba pang mga big bosses hindi pa nga naaaresto tulad nina Duanren Wu ng Porac POGO hub, si Zhang Jie, at si Huang Zhiyang na sinabi na ni Guo Hua Ping at lumabas sa aming imbestigasyon ay kasosyo niya sa Bamban POGO hub. Itong lahat ng mga ito ay kailangan namin ma-establish,” Hontiveros said.  

Hontiveros said she believed there is a bigger POGO boss who has yet to be arrested.

SHE ZHIJIANG 

As for the self-confessed Chinese spy named She Zhijiang, Hontiveros said they still did not know which prison facility he was transferred to and still do not have contact with him. 

In a previous interview with Al Jazeera, She said Guo is a fellow spy. 

Hontiveros said there was no update yet from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on its efforts to reach She.

With the Senate investigation on POGOs about to close, Hontiveros said it was up to the government to follow up the leads they established.
