MANILA - A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rocked parts of Negros Oriental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Monday night.

Phivolcs monitored the tremor, which was tectonic in origin, at around 10:43 p.m. Its center was located 9 kilometers southwest of Tayasan town.
