MANILA - The Department of Education moved the Christmas break for elementary and high school students a week earlier to give them more quality time with their family.

Christmas break will now begin on December 15, Saturday, a week earlier than the original schedule December 22, DepEd said in an order issued Wednesday.

However, DepEd said all classes will immediately resume on January 2, Wednesday, just a day after New Year's day. The last day of classes remains on April 5, 2019, it added.
