Duterte is scheduled to attend the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in Singapore from November 12 to 15, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Papua New Guinea from November 16 to 18.

Under Special Order 1265, Duterte tasked Medialdea to "ensure the continuity of government service" and to "take care of day-to-day operations" as officer-in-charge of the executive department while the President is abroad.
