Senator Manny Pacquiao said on Monday in London that he will be the campaign manager of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party for the 2019 mid-term elections.
“They appointed me as campaign manager for PDP-Laban party, so I have to endorse (their candidates),” Pacquiao told ABS-CBN correspondent Danny Buenafe.
Pacquiao was invited by Oxford Union, a student society that has a wide long tradition of "hosting debates and speakers dating back to 1823."
“Public service is my clarion call. My compassion for the plight of my people is what motivated me to enter the world of public service in 2010 as a representative of Sarangani in the Philippine Congress," he said in his speech.
“Two terms after, I won a seat in the Senate with over 16 million votes.”
During the open forum, the boxing superstar said he is open to running for the presidency in 2022 after President Duterte finishes his 6-year term.
