MANILA — Part of a wall at the Gaisano Grand Koronadal in South Cotabato collapsed Thursday morning as a magnitude 6.5 quake destroyed buildings across Mindanao.

The mall had just opened when the quake struck past 9 a.m. in neighboring Tulunan, Cotabato, the same area where 2 strong temblors hit earlier this month.

No one has been reported injured by debris that fell onto the mall's parking lot as of this posting. Workers there have been ordered to go home.

Meanwhile at the nearby South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, patients were evacuated onto makeshift tents as authorities inspected the structure following the quake.
