Passing on the responsibility
The Palace said President Rodrigo Duterte was serious with his offer to Vice President Leni Robredo to lead the war on drugs. Robredo asked: If the drug war is not a failure, why is it being passed to her? You pass a problem to someone else if you can’t hack it anymore, Robredo said.
The President called on all stakeholders to help government address the water crisis in Metro Manila. Maynilad reacted to the President’s threat to use extraordinary powers to take over water companies. The company said it was doing everything to ease the impact of the reduction in supply.
Metro Manila residents will start leaving the city for the provinces to visit their dearly departed for All Souls’ Day. The government and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have laid out their security plans for the exodus. PNP spokesman Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac will be guest on Headstart to discuss their plans.
