Cebuanos mourned and celebrated their beloved Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, who was laid to rest on Thursday.

Many Catholics trooped to the streets and the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral to remember Vidal, their archbishop for nearly three decades.

A crowd of 12,000 gathered for the funeral procession of the deceased prelate, according to police estimate.

Vidal, the fourth Filipino cardinal, died on October 18 due to complications from pneumonia. He was 86.
