Following the onslaught of typhoons Karen and Lawin, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has introduced new relief packages being distributed to affected families.

Unlike previous relief goods that came in plastic bags, the new ones are carefully packed inside a box and sealed with tape.

"Mga kababayan, ito po ang DSWD Family Foodpack at ang laman (n)ito," Secretary Judy Taguiwalo said on Facebook.

The food pack is enough to sustain the food needs of a family of five for two days, Taguiwalo said.

She added that packages should be sealed when given to aid beneficiaries.

(It should be sealed when distributed. It includes 6 kilogram of rice, 4 cans of sardines, 4 cans of corned beef or beef loaf and 6 sachets of coffee or cereal energy drink. The food pack is enough for two days for a family of five.)
