Isabela Governor Faustino G. Dy III ordered Wednesday the forced evacuation of families in ten towns in the province that are in the path of Typhoon "Lawin." This, as weather bureau PAGASA raised tropical cyclone warning signal no. 4 in Isabela and Southern Cagayan.

Dy ordered the forced evacuation in the coastal towns of Dinapigue, Palanan, Divilacan, and interior towns of Maconacon, Cabagan, Tumauini, Sto. Tomas, Sta. Maria and Ilagan.

Classes in Isabela for all levels have been suspended until October 20, while government offices were also closed, except for emergency services.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the typhoon was already packing maximum sustained winds of 220 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 305 kph.
