MANILA - Nominees of a party-list named "GUTOM" (hunger) eye seats at the House of Representatives to give voice to those who are literally hungry and to those hungry for justice.

GUTOM or "Gawing Una ang Tagumpay ng Ordinaryong Mamamayan" will push for a national minimum wage, which they think will solve a lot of the country's problems, Christopher Frias, the party's nominee, said Tuesday as they filed for nomination.

Frias said their group, which will run for party-list for the first time, is composed of individuals from the business sector and the academe.

He said their name may sound funny but their plans are serious.

GUTOM party-list has five nominees vying for seats in Congress.
