PORAC, Pampanga - Actor Mark Lapid on Monday filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor of this town in next year's elections.
Speaking in the vernacular, the "Ang Probinsyano" actor said he will roll out an employment program if he is elected.
Lapid was governor of Pampanga from 2004 to 2007, before heading the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) during the previous Aquino administration.
He attended Mass with hundreds of supporters at the St. Catherine Parish before registering his candidacy.

He was accompanied by his father, former senator and "Ang Probinsyano" co-star Lito Lapid.
Mark's brother, Meynard Lapid, also filed his certificate of candidacy for Sangguniang Bayan member.
