Gordon said the panel’s report may be released Monday, so that the public “will be assuaged that we are all watching out for each other here.”

The investigation was initiated by Opposition Senator Leila de Lima, who had lined up a string of witnesses to alleged police abuses in the drug war.

De Lima also presented witness Edgar Matobato, a self-confessed hitman who tagged President Duterte in vigilante killings in Davao, before she was ousted as the inquiry’s leading investigator and succeeded by Gordon.
