MANILA (UPDATE) - The vice mayor of Batuan town in Masbate was shot dead Wednesday by unidentified assailants in Sampaloc, Manila.

Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III was killed, while his two companions, identified as Wilfredo Pineda and Alberto Alforte, were wounded.

Initial investigation showed the victims were having breakfast when they were ambushed along Vicente Cruz Street in Manila.
