Fire destroys 13 houses in Cebu City

A fire destroyed 13 houses and partially burned six others in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City on Saturday morning. Handout

CEBU CITY—A fire hit 19 houses in Barangay Quiot here Saturday morning.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said 13 houses were razed, while six were partially burned.

No one was reportedly hurt in the incident.

Residents said they saw smoke coming out of the house of an Almie Carao.

The Carao family was at work at the time the fire broke out.

According to the BFP, a short circuit may have caused the fire.

Fire victims are currently housed at the barangay gym.

The damage is estimated at about P120,000.
