CEBU CITY - A man who was driving his car on the way home was shot by a still unidentified suspect outside a subdivision in Barangay Tisa, this city Friday morning.

Vincent Rojo, 39, was shot before he reached the subdivision gate aboard his black luxury car, said village guard Rogelio Peligro.

"When I opened the gate he entered straight inside...He did not say anything, so I directly instructed the other guard to call the police. He then was rushed to a hospital," Peligro said.

According to some bystanders, Rojo was shot just a few meters away from the subdivision gate.

Police have yet to identify the background of the victim, who is currently admitted in a private hospital, but they believe the crime was planned.

"According to the head guard of the hospital I spoke to, the victim is now safe...This was really planned," said homicide investigator SPO2 Rommel Bancog.

Recovered at the crime scene were 18 slugs of an M16 rifle used by the assailant.
