MANILA - The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo rejected Thursday former Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson's call for a face-off.

Robredo's spokesperson lawyer Barry Gutierrez in a tweet said that unlike Uson, the vice president is busy doing "real" work.

"Pasensiya na si Mocha. Di tulad niya, si VP Leni kasalukuyang nagtratrabaho para sa ating mga kababayan, at walang oras para pansinin ang mga chikka niya," he said in a tweet.

(Apologies to Mocha but unlike her, VP Leni is working for our countrymen and has no time for her chatter.)

"Salamat na lang sa imbitasyon, pero busy kami sa totoong trabaho," he added.

(Thanks for the invitation but we're busy with real work.)

Uson on Thursday urged Robredo to face her "eyeliner to eyeliner" after the vice president told the former sexy singer that her resignation from office would not spare her from liability over her alleged lies and scandals.

"Alam n'yo kung kasinungalingan lang, nako, sino kaya ang totoong sinungaling? Maski nga iyang posisyon n'yo bilang VP ay isang malaking kasinungalingan," Uson said, an apparent reference to the pending protest against Robredo's May 2016 victory.

(When it comes to lies, who is the real liar? Even your position as Vice President is a big lie.)

Uson on Wednesday announced her resignation from the Presidential Communications Operations Office and warned her critics that the fight has just begun.

"Katulad nga po ng sinabi ko, patas na ang laban ngayon. Wala akong tinatago, wala akong kinakatakutan. Magharapan tayo, mata sa mata, eyeliner to eyeliner," Uson told Robredo.

(Like what I've been saying, the fight is even now. I'm not hiding anything, I don't fear anything. Let's face each other, eye to eye, eyeliner to eyeliner.)

Uson announced her resignation during a Senate hearing on Wednesday, calling it a "sacrifice" so that the budget of her former office, the Presidential Communications Operations Office, would be approved.

The Office of the Ombudsman on Thursday said it would continue its investigation into complaints filed against Uson during her time in government.
