CEBU CITY - Five men were killed in a suspected ambush in Barangay Malubog here Thursday morning.

One of 2 survivors in the incident admitted that she rode a habal-habal or motorcycle to deliver drugs to her friend in Banawa town.

She said several men wearing police uniforms were already at their destination when she and her habal-habal driver arrived.

The group, she said, asked her and her companion to go inside an apartment unit before allegedly blindfolding her and asking her to ride a van.

She said the van was already moving to an unknown destination when she heard gunshots, prompting her to run away.

Two of the fatalities were on board the van while 3 others were riding motorcycles.

Central Visayas police director Chief Supt. Debold Sinas, however, told reporters at the crime scene that those involved in the incident were not policemen.

Investigators have yet to give an official statement and present the evidence confiscated from the suspects.
