It was packing 259.28 kilometers per hour (kph) maximum sustained winds and gusts reaching 314.84 kph, according to one-minute readings made by the U.S. Navy-Air Force command based in Hawaii.

As of 10 p.m., Queenie was located 1,000 kms east of Calayan, Cagayan, according to PAGASA.
