MANILA (UPDATE) - Darwin Dormitorio wanted to fight for his country, but those dreams were snuffed out when he died in the hands of his fellow cadets at the barracks of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City on September 18.

In the weeks before he died of cardiac arrest, apparently caused by the repeated beatings he took during hazing, Dormitorio wrote in a journal the brutal treatment he received inside the academy.

"Yung paghahampas din ni Cdt. Imperial sa mukha dumugo din ng grabe yung ilong ko na grabe like sh*t sa buhos. Di ko alam na popout din pala kung sabihin (?) sa squadleader," Dormitorio wrote.

One of the 5 suspects in the case was a certain 3rd class Shalimar Imperial. Police had filed criminal charges against him, along with 3rd class Felix Lumbag, and 1st class Axl Rey Sanupao.
