MANILA- There will be no extension of the voter registration period which is scheduled to end Saturday, Sept. 29.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) issued the reminder Friday as it urged last-minute registrants to be patient with the anticipated long lines.

"We call on the public to exercise patience as long queues are to be expected in the last few days of registration," Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said in a statement.

The poll body however assured that priority lanes will be provided for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and heavily pregnant women.

Registrants may proceed to the Office of the Election Officer in their respective city, municipality or district, or any satellite registration site in their area from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

A special registration of voters meanwhile will be held in war-torn Marawi City from Oct. 1 to 15.

For more information, schedules of satellite registration activities are available on the Comelec Facebook page.
