The remains of Philippine Military Academy Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio were laid to rest, with full military honors, on Wednesday in his hometown Cagayan de Oro City.

Soldiers gave a final salute while holding a Philippine flag over Dormitorio's casket, as it was lowered into the grave inside a private cemetery.

The military also fired a volley of shots for Dormitorio, who died last week after complaining of stomach pain.

The 20-year old cadet was confined at the hospital twice in the previous month and had bruises on his stomach consistent with hazing.

Following his death, PMA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Ronnie Evangelista resigned from his post. Brig. Gen. Bartolome Bacarro also stepped down as commandant of cadets.
