MUSCAT - Sa muling pagbubukas ng klase sa Oman. Excited ang mga estudyante at magulang ng Philippine School Oman lalo’t face to face na ang lahat na klase matapos ang pandemya.“Napakaganda po ng turn-out ng ating enrollment ng panuruang taon ng 2023-2024. Meron po tayong halos 15% na pagdami ng ng enrollees. Isa pong dahilan nito ay ang dating naka-online ay bumabalik na po sa face to face classes,” sabi ni Mike Joves, Principal, Philippine School Oman.<div class='embed-wrap'><figure data-feedback='fb:likes,fb:comments'><img alt='1' src='https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/tfc/09_1/22/labas-ng-school1b.jpg' ></figure></div>“It’s a big privilege to be here since it’s the only Philippine School here in Oman. I get to connect with other people like m.e it provides so many services that can easily be accessed by the students,” sabi ni Chriven Dale Baylosis, grade 8 student.<div class='embed-wrap'><figure data-feedback='fb:likes,fb:comments'><img alt='2' src='https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/tfc/09_1/22/ph-school-facade1b-(1).jpg' ></figure></div>Ang Philippine School Oman ang nag-iisang community school para sa mga Pilipino na nagse-serbisyo na sa loob ng halos tatlong dekada na pinamamahalaan ng mga magulang.“Sa ngayon po ay umaabot po tayo ng 940 students meron pa po tayong mga mag aaral na hindi pa nag-e-enroll sila po ay mga old students at inaasahan po natin na sila ay papasok ngayong Setyembre,” sabi sabi ni Joves. Kindergarten-1 hanggang K-12 ang mga estudyante na pumasok dito at mahigit 70% ay mga Pilipino.“Sobrang nag-enjoy ako for my son nasa KG-2 siya sobrang enjoy siya tuwing hapon lagi niyang sasabihin sa akin na: ‘mommy, I want to go to school’,” sabi ni Faye Cudal, PS parent.<div class='embed-wrap'><figure data-feedback='fb:likes,fb:comments'><img alt='4' src='https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/tfc/09_1/22/classroom3b.jpg' ></figure></div>Dahil sa paglobo ng enrolees, kailangan din ang dagdag na guro at classrooms.“It’s a blessing dito po ako lumaki and my mother was a teacher here before and now ako na yung nag-e-educate sa kanila,” sabi ni Delmar Jade Rabino, alumni, PSO faculty member.“Ito po ang isa sa mga pangarap ko na bumalik bilang isang teacher dito and also I’m an alumna, other than that grabe na po yung school over the years, ang school po is actually improving,” sabi ni Janero Favorito, teacher, PSO alumna.Ayon sa Chairman ng Board of Trustees na si Luisito Layon, nakipag-ugnayan na sila sa may ari ng building para makapagdagdag ng silid-aralan.<div class='embed-wrap'><figure data-feedback='fb:likes,fb:comments'><img alt='23' src='https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/tfc/09_1/22/classroom1bc.jpg' ></figure></div>“The 3rd floor construction is ongoing with the discussion with the consultant we are foreseeing around 8-15 classrooms hopefully this will materialize within this year,” sabi ni Layon.Pero ayon sa mga magulang, napapanahon nang magkaroon ng sariling building ang paaralan dahil halos tatlong dekada na silang nangungupahan kung kaya’t humihingi sila ng tulong sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno sa Pilipinas.“We would like to appeal to our government, if ever po the place or the lot will be awarded to the Philippine School Oman in the near future sana po ay suportahan niyo rin po ang Philippine School Oman sa pag-build ng Philippine school,” sabi ni Cathy Layon, pangulo ng PTA.“Sana po matulungan niyo kami na magkaroon ng sariling school (building) ang Philippine School Oman.
