DAPITAN CITY – Fourteen passengers bound for Cebu were stranded at the Pulauan Port in Dapitan City on Thursday.
The shipping company decided to cancel their trips from Dapitan City to Dumaguete City due to the impending weather disturbance.
“We don’t have any storm signal warning here but as we can see, medyo masama na talaga ang panahon so we [decided to] temporarily suspend the trips,” said Dapitan port commander, Ensign Rose Manaay.
Three vessels are taking shelter at the Pulauan wharf.
The Coast Guard was also waiting for the arrival of another vessel from Dumaguete City.
Trips will resume immediately as soon as the weather improves, Manaay said.
