MANILA - (UPDATED) National police chief Director Oscar Albayalde on Monday sacked the provincial directors of Sultan Kudarat and Masbate following successive bombings in the two areas.

Albayalde also ordered the relief of the chief of police in Isulan town, Sultan Kudarat.

One person was killed while 15 others were injured on Sunday when a bomb ripped through an internet cafe in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. The incident comes just days after an explosion during a festival in the city left 3 dead.

A homemade bomb also ripped through the Masbate port on Sunday, the second such incident there in a month. The 2 blasts did not cause any casualty, but destroyed several boats, including 2 rescue vessels of the military and coast guard.

Tagged in Monday's relief order were police chief Senior Supt. Froilan Navarosa of Masbate, Senior Superintendent Noel Kinazo of Sultan Kudarat and Chief Inspector Celestino Daniel of Isulan.

Albayalde is attending a conference of police officers from Southeast Asia in Brunei. He said he may cut his trip short over the bombings.
