MANILA - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will assume the chairmanship of the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC).

President Rodrigo Duterte, through Executive Order No. 90 signed on Aug. 28 but released only to the public on Monday, transferred the chairmanship of the rehabilitation body to the DENR from the Department of Budget and Management.

Duterte, in his order, explained that the transfer of chairmanship is for "close coordination and oversight" of clean-up efforts and rehabilitation of major waterways in Metro Manila, given that the DENR handles the Manila Bay Task Force.
