MANILA (UPDATE) - At least 9 people were killed after a small plane crashed Sunday in Calamba City, Laguna, authorities said Monday.

The passengers were on board King AIR 350, an 11-seater medical evacuation plane with registration number RP-C2296, which was on its way back to Manila from Dipolog City.

A mother and her son, who are the caretakers of the resort where the plane crashed, were rushed to a hospital in Calamba following the incident.
