3 inmates escape from Leyte prison

Three inmates from the Leyte Regional Prison have escaped on Thursday morning.

LEYTE - Three inmates from the Leyte Regional Prison in Abuyog, Leyte have escaped on Thursday morning.

The fugitives were identified as Allan Canonce, a farmer from Barugo Leyte who is serving reclusion perpetua for rape a case; Alberto Bartolome, a laborer from San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte who is sentenced with life imprisonment for violation of RA 9165; and Dominador Rom, a farmer from Jaro, Leyte, who is serving reclusion perpetua for robbery with homicide and simple theft cases.

According to Abuyog police, the prisoners were found missing during the head count. The three reportedly destroyed the prison fence.

The police have already issued alerts to nearby police stations to help capture the three fugitives.
